Terrify Yourself With DWASF

Big news with the Diverse Writers and Artists of Speculative Fiction! We have a big in-person event coming up, a forthcoming magazine, and a steady stream of articles for your education and entertainment.

Chosen Realities, the DWASF journal, won’t be available until later this year, but I can tell you it includes a wide range of features from short stories, to nonfiction, to poetry. For a taste of what we offer you can read my article “Self-Mutilation: Terrifying Yourself to Create Successful Horror Poetry” at http://dwasf.org/index.php/2019/05/23/self-mutilation-strategies-for-terrifying-yourself-to-create-successful-horror-poetry/. While you’re at our site be sure to peruse our reviews, plotting advice, videos, and articles about innovations in speculative fiction.

Join us for a discussion of all things speculative fiction at 7 p.m. on Friday, October 25 at Solid State Books. Spend the evening with authors, artists, editors, and publishers Stafford Battle, Bill Campbell, John Edward Lawson, L.H. Moore, Diane Williams, and K. Ceres Wright. Food and drinks are always available at Solid State, but space is limited so plan to get there early. More information soon; keep an eye on https://www.solidstatebooksdc.com/ and http://dwasf.org/ as new details become public.

In the mood for Halloween reading right now? If you don’t want to wait to see what we offer at Solid State Books you might want to check my previous post: Reflect and Squirm. And be on the lookout for my next post, in which I reveal an event more horrifying Halloween event, and an opportunity unlike any I’ve offered before!

Until then you can always sign up for my newsletter over at https://www.subscribepage.com/JohnEdwardLawsonNewsletter to upgrade your inbox with news and more — thank you!
